An Invitation From the Annual Meeting Committee
From Oded Foreman, DVM DACVP, 2026 Program Chair, and Martha Delaney, DVM MS PhD DACVP, 2026 Annual Meeting Committee Chair
On behalf of the Annual Meeting Committee, it is our distinct honor to invite you to the 2026 ACVP Annual Meeting — a scientific program representing the absolute pinnacle of our profession. This year’s meeting will be a vibrant tapestry of cutting-edge science, meticulously designed as a multidisciplinary forum where every member, regardless of specialty, will find value and inspiration.
We have created a program that spans the full breadth of our field through diverse sessions and engaging speakers. Our sessions delve into high-stakes Forensic Pathology and the intersection of animal and human adverse interactions, as well as specialized sessions on Non-Human Primate Neuropathology, Wildlife and Conservation, and Food-Animal Diagnostics. A comprehensive look at the Pathogens We Share will include infectious disease experts working from near and far to better understand how these agents affect animal and human health. For those in the experimental research and industrial sectors, we highlight the evolving use of Aquatic Models in pre-clinical settings and explore Mechanisms of Carcinogenesis from in vitro systems to free-ranging species. We will celebrate our journal, Veterinary Pathology, with representatives from four of the most impactful articles published this year. Whether you are unraveling the complexities of Interstitial Lung Diseases or investigating Comparative Immuno-Oncology to bridge the gap between domestic animal and human medicine, this meeting is designed to ignite your passion and foster profound interdisciplinary collaboration.
The cornerstone of our program is the Opening Plenary Session: Artificial Intelligence in Pathology and Medicine. In an era where foundation models—trained on tens of millions of whole-slide images—are transitioning from research benchmarks to routine clinical practice, this session is essential. We will explore the novelty of AI-driven workflows for both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology datasets, while addressing the critical questions of AI assay validation and our evolving professional responsibilities as pathologists.
Furthermore, we are proud to offer a wealth of Clinical Pathology content. With multiple dedicated scientific concurrent sessions, a specialized workshop on practical Instrument and Method Validation, and an innovative “One Pathology” session correlating cytology with histopathology, the opportunities for clinical pathology-focused content are as abundant as ever.

This program ensures that every attendee—from the resident in training to the seasoned Diplomate—expands their knowledge and professional network, leaving with the tools required to master the challenges of tomorrow.
We look forward to seeing you in Indianapolis!
