Americans With Disabilities Act Accommodations
ACVP complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), as amended by the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act of 2008, by providing reasonable accommodations for examination candidates.

ADA Accomodation Overview
If you have a disability/impairment which may require special accommodation in order to take an examination, you are asked to (1) Review the Information About ADA Requests document below, (2) Complete an ADA Accommodations Request application at the link below and submit by the stated deadline.
Please remember that accommodations are not based on diagnosis, but on current evidence of substantial impairment in skill areas related to the task in which accommodations are being requested. Also, an accommodation cannot be granted retroactively, so that if a candidate informs ACVP of an impairment or disability after the examination has been completed, there can be no changes made in that candidate’s examination results or changes in how that candidate’s examination is graded in comparison to other candidates.
Candidates are encouraged to carefully review all points in the Information About ADA requests before applying.
Documentation to be submitted at the time of request includes:
- A personal statement describing the impact of your disability has on taking the examination
- Evidence of past accommodations
- Detailed, comprehensive written report prepared by a licensed professional
