Comments: The residency phase of the combined program is completed within a residency training program at a partnership university. Each of these strong training programs provides a comprehensive residency training experience that is specific to the individual program and university, such as the breakdown in species typically presented. Continued training in the pathology and the PhD training phase of the combined program are completed at the National Institutes of Health in the Intramural Research Program through the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), or National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
