*The Anatomic Pathology service receives >1,200 necropsies and >16,000 surgical pathology cases annually.

* Service includes 12 wk of surgical biopsy and 2 wk operating laboratory analyzers. Residents in MSU-CRL toxicologic pathology positions are on clinical diagnostic service at MSU for 4 days/month in their 3rd year, the rest of their time being at CRL-Mattawan. Hours spent teaching are greater in years 2 and 3 (except year-3 residents in the MSU-CRL program), but year-1 residents spend similar time shadowing instructors. Time for rounds and journal club are included with seminars and courses. Research time varies with resident projects and includes case workups and associated presentations and publications.
