Activities include participation in post-mortem practicum with CSU Senior Veterinary Students, attendance at weekly pathology rounds, observation of surgical biopsy diagnosis with pathology faculty and residents and self-study of histopathology slide sets. Extern will mimic residency by constructing reports for two biopsy cases. During spring and fall terms, externs attend & observe weekly bio-analytical and microscopic pathology slide seminar, journal club, and surgical pathology & gross pathology courses.
