Dr. Keith Harris leads an impactful 40 plus year career as a veterinary pathologist, serving in distinguished roles within the U.S. Air Force, the pharmaceutical industry, and academia, including department head at the University of Georgia and ACVP President. He is recognized for pioneering contributions to veterinary education, oversight of certification reforms, as a recipient of military commendations, and numerous distinguished honors. Dr. Harris’ legacy is marked by exceptional leadership, dedication to advancing pathology standards, and continued service to professional organizations.

Wanda Haschek-Hock,

Dr. Haschek-Hock is recognized internationally as an expert in toxicologic pathology. She has made highly distinguished contributions through her editorial leadership in prominent scientific journals and as editor of Haschek and Rousseaux’s Handbook of Toxicologic Pathology (now entering its fourth edition, comprising approximately 4,500 pages across five volumes). As a respected Professor Emerita at the University of Illinois, Dr. Haschek-Hock is actively involved in research and publication, inspiring colleagues and students with her unwavering dedication and impactful mentorship.

Michael Oglesbee,

Dr. Michael Oglesbee’s illustrious career spans over 45 years at his cherished institution, The Ohio State University. His achievements are widely acknowledged – in 2015, he was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Beyond vast scholarly accomplishments, Dr. Oglesbee is also recognized as a remarkable mentor and educator defined by empathy, effectiveness, and intellect. His significant contributions to ACVP underscore his dedication to the College and to advancing veterinary pathology education and practice.

Samuel Cohen,

Dr. Samuel Cohen serves as a professor, active scientist, and medical pathologist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He contributes seminal work in carcinogenesis and toxicologic pathology, particularly in chemical-induced cancer in rodents and its relevance to humans. Dr. Cohen’s extensive impact in veterinary pathology is widely recognized through his teaching, service, and consultation to industry and government, and his boundless energy and dedication are reflected in an h-index of 88 with over 37,000 total citations and more than 7,700 since 2020.

Rex Hess,

Dr. Rex Hess is a prominent figure in veterinary pathology whose ongoing, distinguished work continues to shape testicular staging and the endocrine pathways regulating male reproductive development and function. His pioneering research makes extraordinary contributions to advancing the field. Dr. Hess maintains an outstanding publication record and is a renowned lecturer, generously sharing his expertise with graduate students, residents, toxicologists, and veterinary pathologists across academia, industry, and government. His work has impacted federal regulatory process and has had an outsized influence on toxicologic pathology and safety assessment.

Geoffrey Wood,

Dr. Geoffrey A. Wood is an internationally recognized leader in comparative cancer research and onco-pathology who incorporates leading edge technologies to elucidate mechanisms of cancer in animals. He has served on the Veterinary Pathology editorial board and the oncology/pathology working group for canine prostate tumors. Dr. Wood’s expertise has developed wide-ranging networks resulting in collaborations across countries, continents, and disciplines, that truly advance comparative onco-pathology.

Nicole Nemeth,
DVM PhD DACVP
Dr. Nicole Nemeth serves as a professor at the University of Georgia. Her research accomplishments include an impressive publication record of 96 peer-reviewed journal articles since the beginning of her board-certified pathologist career in 2015. Dr. Nemeth currently leads the pathology section for the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease study.

Raquel Rech,
DVM MS PhD DACVP
Dr. Raquel Rech is a highly accomplished veterinary pathologist with a passion for teaching, currently at Texas A&M University. Her teaching efforts have not been restricted to TAMU, she has been invited to institutions all around the world, namely her native Brazil and recently Ghana to assist with a course on African swine fever. Dr, Rech has a remarkable record of 112 peer-reviewed papers, 101 abstracts and 9 book chapters.
