Comments:
The primary goals of our residency training programs are to provide broad exposure to case and training materials in preparation from a life-long career in pathology and successful certification by the ACVP. Oklahoma State boasts pathologists with diverse, broad areas of interest.

Case Load:
 Small AnimalsLarge AnimalsExotic/Zoo AnimalsLab Animals
Anatomic Pathology~400 canine & feline nxs/yr~500 bovine, equine, caprine, etc. nxs/yr~100 avian, exotic, zoo nxs/yr~30 lab animal nxs/yr
Clinical Pathology

Comments:
AP: Nx caseload estimates based on recent data; biopsy caseload is majority canine and feline with fewer large animal specimens and a variable number of zoo animal histopathology submissions.

CP: The clinical pathology case load comes from the Antech lab run in the teaching hospital which draws cases from teaching hospital and state veterinarians.  The case load is moderate enough to allow time for background study/research of cases. Residents spend 2 months a year at an Antech reference lab with a high volume of cases.
