ACVP members who have retired from the practice of pathology and are no longer receiving compensation or earning a living for performing pathology-related activities may request emeritus membership. ACVP Bylaws stipulate that an emeritus member is any member who has retired from the practice or teaching of veterinary pathology. Retirement may have varied meanings. An individual may retire from a career in one institution and work in another or continue to consult. The ACVP Board does not consider such individuals to be retired for the purposes of emeritus membership.
