Phase II - TAMPA

The Phase II examination is a one-day examination in veterinary anatomic pathology or veterinary clinical pathology.   It is composed of written essays and multiple choice questions assessing the skills and knowledge that a minimally competent pathologist should possess. Examination Content Development Guidelines (PDF)

The passing point (cut score) for the new Phase II examination in Tampa will be established via standard setting study in July, 2017.  This passing point must be compared to candidate performance on the 2017 examination to be finalized.  Therefore, the passing point will not be known until after the examination is complete and all scores are analyzed.

Administration of the Phase II examination: The Phase II examination is administered at the American Board of Pathology’s testing facility in Tampa, FL.  The facility is located 5 miles (10 minutes) from the Tampa International Airport and is connected to the Westshore Grand Hotel (formerly InterContinental Hotel.)  http://www.abpath.org/index.php/taking-an-examination/examination-centers
