To: ACVP Members One major objective of the ACVP 2007 - 2012 Strategic Plan is to better define the current roles of veterinary pathologists. This information will facilitate (1) assessment of the current certification process and improvement of certification strategies and (2) objective evaluation and improvement of current training paradigms. To accomplish this objective, several working groups were formed by the Council of the ACVP:
The Role Delineation Study results, additional role analyses and comparisons, a summary of the Role Delineation Study, and recommendations for examination content (Test Plans) generated using the survey are presented below for use by ACVP members, veterinary pathology trainees, individuals affiliated with veterinary pathology training programs, and other interested parties.
Council would like to thank the membership for completing the Role Delineation Survey and the Test Plan Working Groups for their comprehensive and objective evaluation of the results of the Role Delineation Study in the development of Test Plans for the certifying exams. Please note that the Test Plans are working documents. The Exam Committee, Training Program Development Task Force, and Council will work together to optimize the application of the Test Plans to the certification examination. Council encourages all ACVP members to review the results of the Role Delineation Study and the written Test Plans and to provide comments and suggestions to Wendy Coe, Executive Director, ACVP (wcoe@acvp.org).
